RICHMOND, Ky. (WBON) – A Richmond woman was arrested after police say her son got in between her and her husband to stop a domestic altercation with a weapon.
According to our news partners at WBON, Chasity Murphy and her husband were having an argument in the home.
The victim told police that the argument began to get physical and that he was struck in the back of the head. Police interviewed the couple’s son and he told officers that his mother grabbed a knife from the kitchen.
The son also stated that he feared she was going to kill his dad so he “hugged her” and took the knife away from her. “I knew my mother wouldn’t kill me,” said the son in his statement.
Murphy is lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
