GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The search for a missing Richmond mother continued Thursday in Garrard County.

The Richmond Police Department, Garrard County Emergency Management, and Cajun Coast Search and Rescue all worked to try and locate Savannah Spurlock. Garrard County’s Director of Emergency Management, Tim Scott, told LEX 18 that he organized the two dozen searchers, and he wanted people who knew what they were doing in these bitter temperatures.

“If you have people out searching that aren’t experienced, with this weather, Garrard Co has a lot of different terrain, there’s a liability. We don’t want people to get hurt,” he said.

Spurlock has been missing for almost a month after leaving a Lexington bar. Security cameras showed her walking with two men. Police say that a third man has also been identified and questioned along with the other two, but the men deny having anything to do with her disappearance.

The team from Louisiana arrived in Lexington on Jan. 29, but it had been too cold for them to conduct a search.

The search was conducted in specific areas in Garrard County, but authorities say they didn’t turn up anything significant during Thursday’s search.

Savanah’s mother told LEX 18 that she believes in her heart someone knows something about her daughter’s disappearance and that someone will come forward.
