PIERCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCPO) — A suspect is in custody after one deputy was killed and another wounded during a 12-hour standoff.
It says Lt. Nick DeRose, a 22-year veteran, was treated at an area hospital and released.

The Sheriff’s Office says the suspect is 23-year-old Wade Edward Winn, who was taken into custody around 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Green at Royal Oaks Apartments.
Earlier one of the station’s reporters said she heard shots fired and fire started at the apartments.
Police and fire crews responded to the scene.
The names of the deputies and the suspect have not been released. The surviving deputy was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Officials said the deputies were shot about 10:30 p.m. Saturday and that they were dealing with one male suspect.
