Conditions Eyed After 2 Men Found Dead In Boone Co.

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Deputies in Boone County were investigating after two men were found dead in their home.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Hebron Fire Department were call out Saturday morning to a home in Petersburg. Obie Fugate, 72, and Roy Fugate, 67, were found deceased by a family member who had arrived at the property that day to drop off firewood.

Prior to discovering the deceased bodies, the family member located the Fugate’s truck which was found stuck in the mud and blocking a long gravel driveway which led to the Fugate’s residence.

The cause of death remains under investigation. The preliminary report from the Medical Examiner’s Office states that the cause of death for both men is hypothermia. The Medical Examiner’s Office is still awaiting toxicology results before finalizing their report.
