GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (WPSD)— A couple responsible for the death of a baby were sentenced to prison Monday.
Brianna Kayse and David Kayse both pleaded guilty in the death of Brianna’s 8-month-old son, Jacob.
Jacob died of asphyxiation after his head was covered with a comforter.
Brianna was given seven years in prison for manslaughter while David was given five years in prison for reckless homicide.
In a statement to the judge, Brianna claimed full responsibility for the child’s death.
