LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A standoff on Lexington’s near east side ended Tuesday afternoon after police entered a vacant home to find a suspect had vanished.
A standoff began earlier near 4th and Chestnut streets.
Officials said a landlord who went to check on a vacant property called police after finding a man inside.
Officers then were involved in some sort of altercation with a man and believed he ran into a home.
Police asked people to stay out of the area as a SWAT Team moved in on the scene.
However, officers say that when they got inside the home, the man was no longer there. They do not know where the man is, but say they are looking for him.
