HARRISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A paramedic was injured Tuesday evening in a single-vehicle accident in Harrison County.

It happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Kentucky Highway 36W and Lafferty Pike.

Officials say the crew was transporting a patient when the ambulance left the roadway and crashed in a field.

One crew member was transported from the scene to UK Hospital, where she underwent treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, including multiple broken ribs, a broken scapula, and lacerations to the head and knees.

The other crew member went to Harrison Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

The patient who was being transported to HMH was taken by another EC unit.
