MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (NBC News)– A 4-year-old Western Kentucky girl is being praised for having enough poise to call 911 when her mother passed out.

Her mother has a condition, known simply as pots, that makes her heart rate and blood pressure go up when she changes her posture. This causes her brain and body to shut down, and she passes out.

But when Asia Brewer fell while moving between rooms in her home, her daughter Kenna knew what to do.

It’s a situation she was also in two years ago.

Asia says despite her daughter’s age she knows she can count on her.

“I trust her so much – and because she is four, they say you can’t trust that she’s always going to be there for you – but I can.”

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department awarded Kenna with a commendation of honor and bravery.

911 dispatch wants to stress how important it is for your child to know their address in case you’re ever in the same situation, they can easily get to you.
