LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A video making rounds on social media prompted a protest in downtown Lexington on Tuesday.

The video shows a teenager being arrested and apparently punched by an off-duty police officer.

According to the Lexington Police Department, the two officers in the video were working at Fayette Mall in an “off-duty capacity” on Saturday and responded to a complaint about some disorderly people.

It was during this investigation police say one of the officers was assaulted by a male juvenile.

The father of that boy posted the video on Facebook, claiming an officer punched his son, who has autism, three times.

We do not know the incidents that took place before the video.

Demonstrators made their way from the courthouse to police headquarters where they closed off East Main Street for three minutes, drawing attention to what they call an injustice.
