Correction: Originally KSP reported that he was awaiting extradition for charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, and Possession of Cannabis over 30 grams. They now say that Thomas already served time for his Chicago charges and that he is in trouble for probation violation.

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Kentucky State Police say that the Madison County Drug Task Force arrested a wanted felon from Chicago Thursday morning in Richmond.

They say an anonymous tip was placed through the AHIDTA tip line (1-833-KYDRUGS) indicating that Marshawn Thomas was living in Richmond and he had recently opened a sandwich shop within the city limits under the alias DeJuan Mack.

The 40-year-old was arrested without incident just before 9 a.m. Thursday near his Richmond business “Tela’s Kentucky Sandwich Shack.”

He is lodged in the Madison County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Chicago.

Originally KSP reported that he was awaiting extradition for charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, and Possession of Cannabis over 30 grams. They now say that Thomas already served time for his Chicago charges and that he is in trouble for probation violation.  Thomas told LEX 18 that the Chicago probation was on marijuana possession, no intent to sell.

Thomas is charged with Theft of Identity in Kentucky as a result of assuming someone else’s name and birthdate.
