LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington officials said Sunday morning that service was restored to non-emergency phone lines for city police and fire departments after a brief interruption.

City spokeswoman Susan Straub said the 911 emergency line was not affected and was still working properly.

However, the regular police and fire numbers — 859-258-3600 and 859-231-5600 — were not working properly for a short time on Sunday morning.

Alternate numbers — 859-258-3601 and 859-258-3602 — were also working, Straub said.

It was not clear what caused the phone outage.
