FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)– Gun violence survivors and activists will gather at the state Capitol on Tuesday to demand that lawmakers protect survivors of domestic violence.

Volunteers with the Kentucky chapter of ‘Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America’, along with others
will urge lawmakers to support legislation that would disarm domestic abusers.

Advocates say a strong law to protect survivors would prohibit all abusers who are subject to final domestic violence protective orders from buying and possessing guns and give up any they already own.

This law would also apply to abusers who have been convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence crimes.

The rally is set for 10 a.m.
