Several Roads Closed Around Ky. Due To Heavy Rainfall

(LEX 18)– Several roads around the state are closed Tuesday after days of heavy rainfall.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, high water and slides are just some of the problems being caused by over-saturated grounds.

Here are the closings for the following counties:

BULLITT COUNTY

KY 480 (Cedar Grove Road) between Woodsdale Road and Grigsby Lane (mile marker 10 – 11) due to water over the road.

BRACKEN COUNTY

KY 1109 (Johnsville-Bradford Road) – Road is closed between KY 8 to KY 1957 (5.8 – 3.8 mm) due to high water.

CAMPBELL COUNTY

KY 1566 (Oneonta Road) – The road is closed between KY 1997 (Stonehouse Road) and KY 8 due to high water.

GALLATIN COUNTY

US 42 (8 – 11 mile-marker) – near Dorman Drive to US 127 – the road is closed due to a slide.

HENRY COUNTY

KY 389 (River Road) near Leadmine Road and Main Street in Lockport (mile marker 5.6) and just north of KY 202 (mile marker 13.4) due to mud slides.

KENTON COUNTY

KY 3035 (Old KY 17) – the road is closed due to a landslide at 4710 Madison.  Road will remain closed until further notice.

SHELBY COUNTY

KY 2268 (Old Eminence Pike) between Seventh Street and KY 55 (mile marker 0.2 to 1.3) due to water over the road.

SPENCER COUNTY

KY 2885 (West River Road) at the bridge over Simpson Creek (mile marker 2.6) due to water over the road.
