DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a suspect in a triple murder case in Owensboro.

Those murders happened Jan. 17 at a home on Audubon Avenue.

According to the Messenger Inquirer, 31-year-old Cylar Shemwell and 30-year-old Arnett Baines were indicted last week for the murders of Jay Sowders, Christopher Carie, and Robert Smith.

The Daviess County commonwealth attorney says he’s seeking the death penalty for Baines and that he’s still working through the evidence to determine if he can file the death penalty for Shemwell.
