LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3)– According to court ruling signed by Honorary Judge John David Seay, the trial of Brooks Houck in a felony theft case will be moved to Warren County.

On July 18, 2018, Houck was indicted by a Nelson County Grand Jury on four counts of theft by unlawful taking (Class D Felonies) and one count of theft by unlawful taking (misdemeanor). Court documents claim he stole shingles from the Lowe’s in Bardstown back in April.

Unrelated to this indicted, Houck is the ex-boyfriend of Crystal Rogers, a mother from Bardstown who disappeared in July 2015.  Detectives believe she was murdered, but her body has never been found.  Houck was named as a suspect in the disappearance.

A judge ruled to move his theft case to Bowling Green so he can get a fair trial due to all the local and national media attention surrounding the disappearance of Rogers.
