GARRARD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A team of highly skilled volunteers from Ohio is hoping to end the search for Savannah Spurlock, but they are keeping an eye on the weather.

The Ohio Midwest Chapter of Texas Equusearch will be in Garrard County this weekend, the place Spurlock was last seen the night she went missing more than a month ago.

A wintry mix in the forecast could impact their efforts.

Even a dusting of snow could make things difficult for the nearly 200 people they expect to come out Saturday, but they’re hopeful they won’t have to call off the search.

“When you’re looking for evidence and small things, if you have snow covering them, it kind of makes things a little bit more difficult and we don’t want to miss anything,” said David Rader, the chapter’s director.

The search will begin at 8 a.m.. The command center is at Hyattsville Baptist Church.

If you can’t search but still want to help, you can bring gas, snacks, water, or monetary donations.
