HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE 3)– Two people are dead and two more are wounded after a series of shootings in Elizabethtown.

It all started around 11:40 p.m. Thursday in the area of North Miles Street and Warfield Street, according to WAVE 3 News.

One of the scenes was at the T-Mart convenience store.

Officers found two men who had been shot in the store. One was pronounced dead and the other was found in critical condition.

Another shooting victim called 911 herself from the American Legion Park in that area. She told police she was shot in the leg at the gas station and drove to the park to get away.

A fourth victim was found in between two houses on Warfield Street. That woman was pronounced dead on scene.

Police tell WAVE 3 News the male suspect was arrested when he returned to the Warfield Street scene still armed with a handgun.

Officers ordered him to drop his weapon, but he tried to fight and resist arrest before he was eventually taken into custody.

Police say they believe that man is the only person involved in the shootings.

The names of the victims and the suspect have yet to be released.
