LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Lexington man pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a 2017 shooting that left one man dead.

Jesse Ray Nance, Jr. pleaded guilty to manslaughter, assault second, and possession of a firearm by a felon in the death of John Moffett Jr.

Nance shot Moffett and a woman in the 500-block of Chestnut Street nearly two years ago.  The female victim was shot in the leg.

Moffett oversaw the Lexington Homeless Voice Cross Co-Op. Police say he and Nance had been involved in an altercation.

Nance could face 25 years in prison. His formal sentencing will be held March 29.
