LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3)– Two people are facing charges after they allegedly fired shots at a police officer and damaged a cruiser.
It happened around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday on Wattbourne Lane at Watterson Trail.
According to WAVE 3 News, the officer noticed two men inside a stolen vehicle and when she went to investigate, one of the men fired a shot.
The officer reportedly returned fire and the vehicle fled the scene, striking the officer’s cruiser in the process.
Law enforcement found the unoccupied vehicle on Dalewood Place, and the suspects nearby in a tree line behind Meijer.
WAVE 3 News is reporting that both of the individuals were taken into custody.
The suspects were not injured during the incident, however the officer sustained minor injuries.
