PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. ( LEX 18)– Lake Cumberland has reached record-breaking numbers. Boaters at Burnside Marina say they are speechless to see what all the extra water has done.

Maintenance crews at the marina have been working double time, to adjust the dock levels along with the water. The electric to the dock had to be shut off because panels are under water. Now, there’s another threat coming, freezing temperatures.

“I came back down today to bring marine antifreeze, to go ahead and do what I could to keep my pipes from freezing,” said boater Wendell Lyon.

The boaters know that the work has just begun.

“We’re now at a record high, and we’ve still got our rainy months of March and April, yet to come,” said Lyon.

The Burnside Marina manager told LEX 18 that the water has gone down about a foot the past day or so. Despite that, there’s still a long way to go.
