LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is crediting tips from the public for leading to the arrest of a couple who they say spent Valentine’s Day stealing from a local store.

Police say a man and woman went into the Pit Stop grocery store on Feb. 14.

When the clear went to the back of the store to fix a toilet, authorities say, the man grabbed two bags of money from behind the counter.

On Friday, police arrested 28-year-old Thomas Asher and 33-year-old Jennifer Wallace.

Each was charged with felony theft in the case.
