LETCHER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A boulder that fell onto the shoulder of a Letcher County roadway will require quite a bit of work to remove.
It’s located on US 199 at Payne Gap (mile point 23).
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, it will have to be hammered into smaller pieces in order to clear it from the roadway.
All lanes are open, but they are encouraging drivers to be careful in the area especially before daylight.
