NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Two employees were injured after an incident at the Barton 1792 Distillery.
According to Nelson County Emergency Management, a mash tank in the distillery failed starting a ripple effect. Another tank was punctured and another overflowed.
Some of the overflow is threatening a stream near the property. Distillery workers set up barriers to protect the water.
It’s the same distillery where a warehouse collapsed last year destroying thousands of barrels of bourbon.
The two injured employees have been treated for non life-threatening injuries.
The Visitor Center will be closed for the rest of the day.
