LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man has been arrested in connection to a personal robbery at a Lexington bus stop.

It happened around 11 p.m. Feb. 11 on Augusta Drive.

According to an arrest citation, the victim got off the bus and was approached by 24-year-old Roger Strunk who asked if he could “borrow a couple dollars.”

The victim told police he was carrying a large container of change and attempted to open it to lend money to Strunk. When he couldn’t get the jar opened, Strunk told him he had a friend on the way that could help.

When the friend arrived, Strunk allegedly took the jar and his friend pulled out a knife and told the victim not to follow them.

Police were able to identify Strunk based off the victim’s description of his tattoos and comparing them to previous mugshots. Video from the Lextran bus verified he was on the bus with the victim.

He was arrested Tuesday night and charged with one count of first-degree robbery.
