FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Mothers Against Drunk Driving Kentucky founder, Lois Windhorst, will testify Wednesday in support of Senate Bill 85.

The legislation would expand Kentucky’s ignition interlock law to apply to all offenders.

Right now, the interlock program requires first-time DUI offenders with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent higher and repeat offenders to install a breathalyzer device in their car.

Supporters of expanding the law say it could reduce drunk driving deaths by 16 percent.
