LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Lexington Rescue Mission received a huge delivery Wednesday morning.
A semi truck dropped off 80 queen-sized mattresses donated by Tempur Sealy.
The mission will use those mattresses to help individuals and families who move from homelessness into their own homes.

The mattresses will be in storage until they are needed, and that space was donated by St. Luke United Methodist Church.

“My dad once told me that there’s two things you want to invest in and that’s a mattress and shoes and that’ll effect your whole day and so to be able to have a mattress to sleep on is huge for our individuals,” said Renee Dodson, resource coordinator for Lexington Rescue Mission.
Last year the mission helped 84 families move from homelessness to housing.
