Lexington Police Release 2018 Annual Traffic Report

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Lexington police have released the facts and figures on traffic in 2018, which includes big drops in DUI’s and deadly crashes.

There were nearly 97,000 traffic-related calls last year and charges were up 10 percent over 2017.

There was an 8.8 percent rise in speeding tickets, 22 percent rise in seat belt citations, and 28 percent rise in tickets for running red lights.

DUI arrests were down 9 percent and there were 8.8 percent fewer deadly crashes.
