KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Last Tuesday morning, a fire destroyed a home in Corbin and sent 10 people to the hospital, including seven children.

Stephanie Henson and her family were inside the home when the fire started. Relatives said that the fire started around a fish tank that may have shorted out.

Henson’s nephew William, 5, was the first to notice the fire. William said, “I went to the neighbor’s house and used his phone to call 911.” Relatives said that William was the one who saved everyone.

Three adults and seven children were inside the home. All of them were taken to the hospital, where Henson and a five-year-old girl are still recovering from their burns.

Henson’s two sons received minor burns and are in good condition. Relatives said that Henson must undergo several skin grafts.

The fire cost the family their home, but no lives were lost.
