MARSHALL COUNTY. Ky. (WPSD) – New updates were made in the case of accused Marshall County High School shooter Gabriel Parker.

Parker is facing two counts of murder and 14 counts of first-degree assault for the January 2018 shooting which claimed the lives of two Marshall Co. students.

According to WPSD Local 6, Parker’s attorney told Judge Jamey Jameson that he plans to file a motion for a change of venue. Jameson said that the motion needed to be filed in the next two weeks. Commonwealth’s Attorney Dennis Foust had already filed a motion to set a trial date, but Jameson said that would have to wait on whether the case would be moved.

Parker’s next court date is set for May 17 at 1 p.m. The trial date has been tentatively set for June 1, 2020 depending on whether or not the judge approves the change of venue request.
