FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – Three dogs that survived a deadly crash on I-64 are up for adoption. If not adopted by next week, they will be transferred to a rescue in New Jersey.

Trixie, Trinity and Tristen escaped during the crash, according to police, and are now looking for a home. The three dogs had been captured the day after the crash and taken to the Humane Society.

The family of the Indiana man, Allen Robey, who died in the crash told the shelter that they could not take care of the dogs, who belonged to Robey.

According to the Humane Society, Robey’s family surrendered the dogs.

Barbara Murray, who owns a pet care business in Frankfort, said, “They have no clue where they are, they’re terrified. They don’t know what had happened to them. I guess they were affected by the impact.”

If you are interested in adopting any of the dogs, go to the Franklin County Humane Society.
