(LEX 18)– The ACLU says that a judge has granted their request for a temporary restraining order/preliminary injunction prohibiting the enforcement of Senate Bill 9, which proposed that abortion be banned once doctors find a fetal heartbeat or around six weeks into the pregnancy.

US District Court Judge David J. Hale granted the restraining order/preliminary injunction in part, saying that the defendants are temporarily enjoined from enforcing, attempting to enforce, threatening to enforce, or otherwise requiring compliance with SB 9.

The temporary restraining order was effective starting 7:40 p.m. on March 15, 2019, and will expire in 14 days.
