Louisville Zoo, Mega Cavern To Reopen Friday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Louisville Zoo and Mega Cavern will reopen Friday after a nearly football field sized sinkhole opened up on the property last week.

The hole measures about 50 yards wide, 85 yards long, and 50 feet deep.

Thursday night, officials said the sinkhole is in an undeveloped area of the zoo and the rest of the zoo does not appear to be affected.

A physical barrier is being put up around the sinkhole, until a permanent solution is put in place.
