PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (EKB)– An Eastern Kentucky man faces charges after police say he nearly hit a school bus while under the influence.
Video shows a driver swerving and nearly hitting a school bus.
53-year-old Kevin Hopkins was arrested and charged with DUI.
Police say the video is a scary reminder of what can happen when an impaired driver gets behind the wheel.
“This individual did not need to be on the highway period…this is an incident that has a good ending up to this point, the fact that we made an arrest, they did not collide and cause any damage to anyone else and they were taken into custody, but it doesn’t work that wall all the time,” said Pikeville Police Captain Aaron Thompson.
Pikeville police say the investigation continues and more charges are likely.
