PIKEVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)- An Elkhorn City man is in custody after police say he robbed a woman on a running trail.
According to an arrest citation, the woman was exercising at the Bob Amos Park when Troy Scarberry, 23, came up from behind her and placed a knife to her throat. Police say Scarberry demanded the woman’s cell phone.
The victim was able to break free and call police. Officers were able to catch Scarberry and take him into custody.
Police say the woman had red marks on her face and throat, but she’s expected to be okay. Scarberry has been charged with robbery.
