BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Jenna Oakley, the Boyle County teenager who pleaded guilty in connection to her stepmother’s murder, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Oakley and her then-boyfriend, Kenneth Nigh, were accused in the murder of Rhonda Oakley back in 2016.

The two were found on the run in New Mexico and arrested. Nigh later died by suicide in jail.

Jenna’s father, Phillip Oakley, gave a tear-filled victim impact statement. He said, “I don’t know why you did what you did.”

Oakley broke down in tears as her father spoke.

She was sentenced to 15 years, 10 for manslaughter and five for theft.
