LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A Lexington man who pleaded guilty, but mentally ill, to killing his ex-girlfriend and dismembering her body, was sentenced Wednesday.

A Fayette County Circuit Court judge sentenced 27-year-old Patrick Ryan Jones to 30 years in prison.

In July of 2016, Jones killed 20-year-old Haley Bourgeois, dismembered her body, then put the remains into two dumpsters.

Jones also pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse.

An evidence tampering charge was dismissed.
