(LEX 18)– Multiple cases of E-Coli have been reported in Kentucky.

According to a post by one health department, there was a sudden increase in cases of e-coli in the state.

Officials say less than 25 cases were reported from March 5 to March 25, and were found in children and teenagers with extensive exposure to fast food. Some older individuals were also affected.

Officials tell LEX 18 most cases were in Central Kentucky, but some cases have popped up in other areas.

The symptoms of E. Coli include acute diarrhea, stomach pains, urinary tract infections and respiratory illness.
