LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– An Ohio man has been charged in connection to a Lexington shoplifting ring.

51-year-old Andre Jackson was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon in Orient, Ohio.

Lexington police responded to Vengeance in the Fayette Mall on Oct. 23, 2018 after two men allegedly concealed merchandise and left without paying.

When confronted in the mall parking lot, the owner reported that one of the men displayed a handgun and the pair fled in a car with an out-of-state license plate.

After reviewing security footage, police found that five people were involved.

The footage was featured on the Lexington Police Facebook page and Crime Stoppers, which led to several tips concerning the identity of the suspects.

The store owner participated in a photo lineup in which he positively identified Jackson as the man who pointed a gun at him.

Jackson is facing one count of first-degree robbery. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
