LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – They are everywhere! It’s hard to drive around town without spotting a Canada Goose. One of the creatures around town looks a little different than the rest of the flock.
A goose has been spotted near the Tates Creek area and it appears to have been shot in the head by a dart. Whenever good samaritans try to rescue the animal..the bird makes a dash for it.
Many groups have made their way to Tates Creek Centre in an effort to catch the Canada Goose, including wildlife center officials and animal control officers. Still, the goose remains on the loose.
Despite the severe injury, the bird appears to be surviving and is still able to outrun everyone. People are still worried about the pain the animal feels.
“This is very inhumane and it’s unnecessary and cruel and I just wish that by seeing all these people will stop and think about what they are doing,” said volunteer Pam Light.
Poor little guy. This goose has a dart going all the way through its head. People say it has been like this for months. Today concerned citizens tried to stop and help it but this goose is still on the loose! Story on LEX 18 News tonight.
