LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – They are everywhere! It’s hard to drive around town without spotting a Canada Goose. One of the creatures around town looks a little different than the rest of the flock.

A goose has been spotted near the Tates Creek area and it appears to have been shot in the head by a dart. Whenever good samaritans try to rescue the animal..the bird makes a dash for it.

Many groups have made their way to Tates Creek Centre in an effort to catch the Canada Goose, including wildlife center officials and animal control officers. Still, the goose remains on the loose.

Despite the severe injury, the bird appears to be surviving and is still able to outrun everyone. People are still worried about the pain the animal feels.

“This is very inhumane and it’s unnecessary and cruel and I just wish that by seeing all these people will stop and think about what they are doing,” said volunteer Pam Light.

Goose is on the Loose!
