NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Nicholasville Police Department says that their K9 Benton has died.
The Facebook post said that Benton succumbed to a sudden illness.
Benton was named after a former Nicholasville Police officer, Brett Benton, who was killed in Afganistan.
They describe the K9 as a model employee.
