LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– Police say an acquaintance forced a victim to drive him to multiple ATMs to withdraw cash during an armed robbery.

Police say the victim knew the attacker, who forced him to drive around town by pulling a box cutter on him. After withdrawing an unspecified amount of cash, the victim drove to the Hampton Inn on Nicholasville Road and the suspect jumped out of the car and ran off.

Authorities believe this went on for hours.

The victim was able to call 911. K-9 units were dispatched to the scene and briefly tracked a scent but lost it.

The victim did receive a cut to his hand. Police believe they know who the suspect is, but are not releasing the identity at this time.
