LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Kentucky’s season didn’t end the way True Blue fans wanted, but some told us their loyalty to the team hasn’t wavered.

Cats fans packed into KSBar and Grille to watch the game in a loud and proud environment.

“I can’t imagine staying home and watching the ball game. You gotta be with a crowd like this and just enjoy the atmosphere,” said Will Snell.

The atmosphere was charged until the very end. But as Auburn pulled away in overtime, you could see the feeling of defeat start to creep in.

“It’s heartbreaking you know you feel it with them. Unfortunately, you feel it with them,” said Jessica Wells.

As time finally expired, fans felt gut punched.

“You hate it because they didn’t hit free throws, and free throws win games. And it just makes you sick when it’s that close at the end,” said Wells.

But as any member of Big Blue Nation will tell you, their loyalty to the Cats remains.

“We don’t give up on them. every year we’re in. All in every year,” said Wells.

“It was nothing to hang your heads about. We’ll get em next year,” said Van Meter Alford.
