BURLINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18/WCPO) –Two teens have been arrested after police say they threw a rock into a vehicle, seriously injuring a man, WCPO reports.

Police say 64-year-old William Wehner was driving north on Kentucky Highway 237 near Country Club Lane in Burlington when someone threw a large rock through his windshield.

Wehner suffered facial injuries and was sent to the hospital. His family released a picture of Wehner’s bloodied face to bring awareness to how serious rock throwing is.

WCPO reports that his family hopes that his swelling will go down enough to allow him to have reconstructive surgery.

A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old have been charged with criminal mischief. One is charged with assault and the other is charged with complicity to commit assault.

Anyone who has information on the suspects in this case is asked to call the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
