GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18)- A Harrison County man is charged with reckless homicide in a crash that killed his father.

Jacob King, 27, was arrested in connection with the fatal crash that happened back in 2018. The crash happened at the intersection of Newtown Pike and Johnson Mill Road. Police say Jacob King was behind the wheel when the truck rolled.

His father, Ricky King, was a passenger and was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died the next day. In the arrest citation, a Scott County deputy says there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Police say Jacob King consented to give a blood sample which later tested for a BAC level of 0.107 and marijuana.

King pleaded not guilty to the reckless homicide charge and a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence in his arraignment Tuesday afternoon in Scott County District Court.

King did have two family members in the courtroom during his arraignment, but they declined to talk to LEX 18.
