LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – After searching for more than a week, a Lexington woman has been reunited with her very special companion.

Jo Ann Wylie lost her dog, Kasey, last week and her story broke viewers hearts. Kasey, was hit by a car off of Liberty Road last Sunday and took off.

The dog provided so much comfort to Jo Ann after the death of her husband.

“Sometimes I don’t have anybody to talk to but God and Kasey. We all need somebody else to talk to,” said Wylie.

Volunteers posted fliers and searched for Kasey to no avail. Jo Ann has mobility issues and couldn’t walk the streets to look for her dog.

Then, social media reported that Kasey had been spotted near Quantrel Cadillac. According to her daughter, Jo Ann went to the site and began calling for her.

And in an emotional ending that rivals Homeward Bound, Kasey came running to her mama. She was checked out and was taken home.

Wylie’s family says they are all ecstatic that Kasey made it home.
