Georgetown PD Discover $17K Worth Of Stolen Donut Making Equipment

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) – If there’s a crime against donuts, Georgetown police are ready to solve it.

On Apr. 2, the Storage Sense Storage Facility contacted officials about suspicious activity from one of their renters. Officers executed a search warrant at the unit and discovered over $17,000 worth of stolen property from a donut shop in Tucumcari, New Mexico some 1,200 miles from Kentucky.

Since then, Georgetown detectives have been in touch with the Tucumcari police department and the victim.

In a post on their Facebook page, Georgetown PD expressed their feelings on donut related crime,” What can we say, we have a special place in our hearts for donuts…so, hands off our donuts (and donut making equipment)!”
