LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A local restaurant is raising awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month on Wednesday.
Dozens of non-profits, including CASA of Lexington, will gather at Raising Cane’s on Nicholasville Road around 8:30 a.m. to plant pinwheels in the lawn for each substantiated case of child abuse and child neglect in Fayette County.
They chose pinwheels because they’re a symbol of hope.
Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, Children’s Advocacy Center, Arbor Youth Services, Lexington Family Care Center, The Hands Program, and others, will be at the restaurant to provide information to anyone who wants to learn more.
If you want to help, visit casaoflexington.org to find out how donate and/or volunteer and make a difference in a child’s life.
