BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– An investigation is underway after a body was found in a burning structure Tuesday morning.
It happened around 12:15 a.m. at a residence on Boatman Road in the Railton community.
The sheriff’s office was contacted around 1:50 a.m. after firefighters found the body.
The body was transported to the State Medical Examiners Office in Louisville for an autopsy.
Officials say, based on preliminary autopsy results, no foul play is expected at this time.
The victim was later identified as 41-year-old James Barnes, of Smiths Grove. He was the only known resident at the home.
