FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) -The Kentucky Education Association has named its new president.

Lee “Eddie” Campbell had previously served as the education organization’s Vice President. He’s a high school choir director from Knox County.

“I am truly honored and humbled to be elected as the next KEA President. I cannot express my gratitude to the many, many people who supported and lifted me up on this journey. Thank you so much,” Campbell wrote in a Tweet.

Campbell will replace Stephanie J. Winkler in the next year. Winkler had been on leave from her position as an elementary school teacher in Madison County.
