(LEX 18)– A second case of the measles has been confirmed in Kentucky.

The case comes from the Barren River Health District, which includes Bowling Green and the surrounding area.

The first case was reported in February. It involved a child who health officials say was not vaccinated, and had recently traveled out of the country to an area where measles is endemic.

The CDC says the number of measles cases in 2019 is already the second-greatest number of cases reported in the US since the disease was eliminated in 2000.
